Couplands Elevator Slim (Feline/2.2mm)
The width of the tip is much smaller than a Couplands No.1 elevator.They have a large diameter American style handle for a comfortable grip and good mechanical advantage.
Instrument use;
For cutting the gingival attachment and initial loosening of roots, before using extraction forceps, in feline tooth extraction. They are the correct size for most feline teeth except their canine teeth and the smaller incisors. They are also very useful in extracting very small dog teeth and for the removal of fractured root remnants.
Uses
- Use as with all Couplands elevators - that is by wedging between the root and the crestal bone of the socket (the application point) and then gently rotating the handle.
Warning; the tip is very fine and like a stiletto. It should only be used by a trained individual. Improper use can cause significant iatrogenic damage. Slippage in use may result in deep puncture or cutting injuries. This instrument can not be guaranteed due to the nature of its use & the need for the tip section to be thin.

Returns
