Large heavy duty haemostatic forceps with ratchet handles. The jaws of the forceps have matching longitudinal male female grooves, which when the forceps are closed will offer maximum occlusion/crushing of the tissue being grasped. For this reason in veterinary surgery these forceps are commonly used in Spays, e.g. when tying off the ovarian pedicle, and in other procedures where it is very important that haemostasis is properly achieved. Carmalts have multiple male/female groves on the jaw whereas Angiotribes have a larger single male/female groove. A left-handed Carmalt is also kept in stock as standard but other sizes can be requested.
