A simple rasp designed to smooth sharp edges or spurs on the molars and premolars, to prevent them causing damage to the cheek and tongue which itself can lead to secondary problems. Useful after cutting the molars with molar cutters. Also available as a diamond coated rasp, which is seen to be harder wearing and also less traumatic on the tooth surface and therefore minimising the risk of breaking the tooth.
